The Director of E3D Steel Design, Enda Loughran, began his career in the steel industry in 1996. Enda undertook an apprenticeship over 4 years in steel fabrication and qualified with merit in 2000. In 1999 Enda was nominated for entry to the Irish National Apprenticeship Skills Championships and came 2nd. He was nominated again in 2000 and came 1st in Construction Steelwork. Throughout his career Enda has continued to develop and broaden his skills in the steel industry to include project management and drafting/detailing. Enda has worked as a Project Manager and Draughtsman overseas in Australia and America. Over the last 20 years Enda has established and cultivated excellant working relationship with suppliers and has gained the trust of his customers, many of whom continue to return to Enda for their steel needs.

Apprenticeship
Enda's apprenticeship included block release study in Cork Institute of Technology and Dublin Institute of Technology over a course of 4 years. Enda served his time in the steel industry mostly involved in structural steelwork, working on projects such as car showrooms and warehouses. Enda was also involved in projects involving quarry and mining equipment; working on large plant and machinery such as hopper chutes and conveyors.

Ireland Apprenticeship Competition 2000
The Ireland Apprenticeship Competitions were established by FAS (now SOLAS). The competitions see apprentises from all over the country compete against one another. The winners go on to represent Ireland in the World Apprenticeship Competitions. Enda also came runner-up in the same competition in 1999.
CAD and StruCAD

FAS / StruCAD
Enda completed a suite of courses in CAD through FAS. Following on from this Enda then went on to complete a course in the use of StruCAD, a 3D modelling software. This course was undertaken with StruCAD in the UK.
